Our research indicated that the number one complaint about
other school web systems was that they required too much
training on the part of individual teachers. We thus
kicked around ways to keep things as simple as possible
for teachers.
The result is basically a two-column layout with events
in one column and announcements in the other.
See our
demo school site
for an example.
If you want a dedicated domain name for your Schoolmotion web-site, such as www.oak-elementary.com, you can usually have your web hosting service provide a link or "re-direct" to your Schoolmotion page. Feel free to contact us if you desire assistance or advice on
this process.

Typical steps a teacher would take to add an event
Below are sample screens that show typical steps that a
teacher would use to add a new event for his/her class.
(These examples are roughly based on the
demonstration school
web-site.)

Note that a designated "school website administrator" will
assign passwords to teachers.
Roles
School Site Administrator - This person is
designated to manage the SchoolMotion school web site
for your school. He or she will add and maintain
categories (such as class levels), school-level
announcements, teacher lists, teacher passwords,
and other items. The Site Administrator can
also add and change items at the class level.
Teacher - A designated teacher can add,
change, and remove events and announcements
for his/her assigned class. The School Site
Administrator (above) assigns log-in passwords
to teachers.
Department Administrator - Technically
this role is the same as a Teacher role, but
can be used to have department-level access
to department-level events and announcements.
A typical example would be the person
who enters cafeteria food menus.
